New band.. recorded all the songs myself. No real help from anyone else. But now I'm looking for a few good (hit)men to help me play these songs live. Drums, bass.. that's all I really need. It's a little rockabilly, a little garage rock, a little surfy, doo wop, motown.. whatever.

I've been working like a madman. And on my time off I prefer to just be lazy around the house with my girlfriend. I have been recording new songs for a solo acoustic thing. It's going good.

beeer farts

So I haven't actually updated this thing in a short while. Sorry about that.  I get preoccupied with other things from time to time.

So what's new?  I got a raise at my work! Yeah, that's new.  Not a huge raise.. but a raise none the less.  We'll see how that rolls out on my next paycheck.

May 9th & 10th my band is doing a mini-stint around the Mid-west.  Playing Grand Rapids on the 9th, and heading to Illinois on the 10th.  I'm excited for that.  

A) I used to live in Illinois, so it will be good to show my friends where I lived for about a year.  

B) It will be great to see all my old Illinois friends.

C) It will be good to get on the road with my band.

Last time we did a weekend out, a few weeks after we broke up. haha, so lets try not to repeat that endeavor.

My name is Randall.. and I'm a berzerker.

I had the last two days off. Well, I did have to go into my work yesterday for a pesky meeting. But it was ok. I wore shorts. It actually warm enough to wear shorts. First shorts day of the season.

When I woke up this morning it was promising to be another nice, sunny, warm day. But now the clouds are out and I'm starting to think it's gonna rain or something.

Tonight, I have to work. I help manage a video store. And when the weather is bad, the busier it gets. Oddly enough. Who wants to watch movies when it's nice out? Stupid people do. The handful of people that come into a video store to rent movies on a nice day either 

A) have nothing to do.

B) have no friends 

C) are complete idiots. 

D) are complete idiots that have no friends, there for.. have nothing to do.

I hate the people who fall under the D) category. They're mean, and have no heart. They treat anyone like shit just to get what they want.

And do I give them what they want? Usually not. Cause when I have to deal with idiots all day.. I turn into Randall from Clerks.

Last nights show was 100 times better then last weeks show up north.  Everyone was into it (might have had something to do with the booze).. and we were really feeding off their energy.  

Chubby ralphed outside on a tree after we got done playing..  that's a good sign of pure ROCK n' ROLL!

I'm broke.

I got a ticket the other day for "careless driving" .. called on it today.  It's gonna be a whopping 205 dollars.

There goes tomorrow's paycheck.. and then my next paycheck for my rent.

April = BROKE.

sk8 or die

I've been working non stop for the past 4 days.  I'm tired. I get two days off now.  My weekend in the middle of the week.  Tonight at like 11 or so, I'm going skateboarding with a bunch of people. It's gonna be sweet.  

My first skate trek of the season.  Hopefully I don't break anything.  I gotta work all the kinks out.

Classic ..

So I was up north in Alpena for the past 4 days. Got to see a lot of old friends and my family. Overall it was a good trip.

Got shit resolved with people I thought I had beef with.. and we drank together. Which is a good sign of resolution.  

Also, while up there I got my old bass. I got it when I was like 15. So it's 10 years old to me.. but I'm not too sure how long before I got it, it was actually made. So it's old. And it hasn't been played for like 6 years.. and when it still has the same strings on it from like 8 years ago.

Needless to say.. I'm cleaning it up.  Allegedly it still plays. We will see.

Upnorth Fun..

I'm leaving for Alpena in about an hour. Gonna drive up tonight and spend the remainder of the week and the weekend up there with my family and friends.

I'm excited about it.  Gina and her friend Jamie is also coming.  So I might not be updating this a whole lot with in the next few days.  We'll see.

So I can't seem to shake this cough.  That's the biggest thing I hate about getting sick. Yeah, you figure it would be the cold sweats, or the sniffles, or maybe the burning eyes.  No.. it's that fucking cough. I can bare the rest, but that cough kills me.  Constantly phlemming all over the place.

Fuck that shit.  All the pills in the world, and I still have a cough. And it's a bad cough.. like I'm Doc Holiday and I have Tuberculoses.  (great reference.. I applaud myself for that one.)

Hopefully it goes away, or calms down with in the next few days. Since I have a show on Friday. And as of right now.. totally couldn't sing.

New tattoo

I'm still a bit sick, but I'm feeling a little better. I bought some pills for the cold yesterday. They've been helping.  I got a part of my tax returns back the other day.. and yesterday I went out and got another tattoo.  It hurt like a bitch on my elbow.

Sicker then a dog.

What does that even mean?  I've seen some sick dogs.. but all they do is like chill out and get better. No different then a sick human.  

I've been sick for the past week or so, but it reached it's peak yesterday.  And it's still going..

And I just looked outside and it's fucking snowing. Great.  That's the frosting on my sick cake.

And to top all that .. my apartment complex power is shutting off from 9-3:30pm today to change some lines or some shit.  Luckily I'll be at work from 12-6:30 to not be around for most of that.  But for the 3 hours I'll be here, that's gonna get boring.

Fuck that shit.

shamrock shakes A plenty

I've been in Saginaw since Thursday.. hanging out with Gina and her family and friends.  Good times. Last night we ran into Fred and Damien then they came with us to the bar.. had a bunch of drinks.. then they left.  We continued to drink.. for many hours. 

Had to wake up early this morning to drive an hour and a half to visit Gina's bro.  Hung out with him til about 2:30.. then headed back here.  Which is where I am right now, sitting on the couch typing to the 4 of you that read this while Gina sits on the end of the couch watch Sex and the City reruns.

I've had 2 shamrock shakes on this weekend in Saginaw. oh yeah!

I think I'm gonna go get some fast food.

I don't know if I'll be on the computer much during this time.. but I'll probably post phone blogs which will automatically post here, facebook, livejournal, and twitter.  So you can here what I'm doing.. instead of reading it.

St. Paddy's Day

I'm part Irish, and part Scottish.  So needless to say, this holiday is kinda a big deal to my family and heritage. 

And to celebrate the holiday.. I drink. A lot.  A whole lot.  More than normal.  From when I wake up, til when I go to sleep/pass out.

I'm also playing a show w/ the Beat-Ups (I play bass).. so that will be interesting.  But I have years of training playing drunk.

I remember when I was a kid in school if you didn't wear green on St. Paddy's day you would get pinched/punched.  Do people still do that shit?

Larry Is Dead

So, for some crazy reason I was on YouTube today and came across this movie-short that Tim Armstrong (of Rancid/Transplants) made.. god knows how long.  It looks old as hell.

I had a dream...

I had a dream last night, it involved cocaine.. and lots of other forms of drugs. I don't remember why I was dreaming about all that. When I stay up super late I tend to dream about odd things... like cocaine apparently.



Then in my dream I thought about something that actually happened to me, which (in my dream), I said I would blog about.. but now, as I sit here at the computer... I can't think of what the hell I was gonna write about.

Crack Rock Steady

So the Governor of New York was busted for banging prostitutes.  I really have nothing to say about that.. I'm sure he's not the only politician that has done that. Or has done something equally as stupid.

I mean, remember Marion Berry? He was mayor of Washington D.C. .. got busted for smoking CRACK.  Apologized.. then got re-elected as Mayor.  Go D.C.

John-O (of Nuke and the Living Dead) and I used to check out this website with stories of Haunted areas all over the USA.. you can just click on a state, and find a town, and there would be a story.  Washington D.C. had a bunch of them, and we would just assume they weren't ghost stories.. just cracked out Marion Berry running around the city going.. "BOOO !"
